Clothing
1. Swimsuit and Wet Bag
Of course, this is the #1 thing on our list because you absolutely cannot forget to bring this. You’re going to want to be on the beach or poolside all day so you’ll need a bathing suit. If you don’t have swimsuits yet, here are some that are super cute and highly rated.
Also, if you plan to swim the night before you leave or even the day that are leaving, it’s going to help so much to bring a wet bag. It’s likely not going to dry in time so a wet bag is a game changer in preventing the rest of your clothes to get a musty smell when it’s shut tight in your luggage. Here are some of the best wet bags.
2. Beach Cover Up
Beach cover-ups are not just a fashionable piece but they can really help protect you from the sun. Excess sun exposure can cause skin aging and skin damage. As much as we’d all love sunbathing on a lounge chair or towel in our swimsuits, it’s also important to protect our skin. It’s all about balance.
But to be honest, some cover-ups are so beautiful and stylish that I don’t even want to take off. Here are some of those:
3. Rash Guard
If you’re in the sun for LONG periods of time, you definitely need a rash guard. It’s a good choice to wear a rash guard instead of a swimming suit if you’re going snorkeling or doing other water sports. A rash guard can effectively protect you against harmful UV rays and rashes.
They’re pretty cute and stylish in my opinion especially if you choose the right ones.
4. Dress
During times you’re not doing water activities or on the beach or pool, a nice dress is the easiest outfit to put together that’ll make you look so put together for all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. It’ll likely have warm weather so wearing a dress is very suitable for the weather as well.
5. Casual Clothing
Other than a dress, pack some casual clothes to wear. Bring some nice tops and shirts. Pair those with shorts and if it gets a bit chilly, you can match them with a pair of long pants. Also, bring a light jacket because it might get colder at night.
6. Activewear
In case you want to work out, bring some activewear pieces to wear to work out in. Or simply just wear it to lounge around in.
7. Sneakers
Bring a pair of comfortable sneakers if you plan to hike or take walks around the resort.
8. Flip Flops
When it’s hot, you’ll feel like wearing flip-flops all the time at the inclusive resort vacation. Bring a pair of comfortable and waterproof ones.

9. Waterproof Phone Case
This is a must-have! It’s so much more fun to have your phone with you in the pool or in the beach waters so you can take pictures, selfies, and just to have it with you. But the most frustrating thing is it’s easy it’s to drop it in the water so one of the best things to do is to get a waterproof phone case. I’ve used a plastic bag before but it’s so easy to poke small holes through it and water will seep in.
This waterproof phone case works wonders and is a good option because it makes the phone waterproof under 100 ft of water, you can operate the touchscreen features, and you can also take crystal clear photos with it.
10. Aloe Vera
In case you do get a sunburn from being out in the sun all day, aloe vera will work wonders to help cool the skin and relieve the uncomfort caused by the sunburn. There are lots out there are mixed with other ingredients but 100% pure aloe vera gel is what’s really going to help your skin.
11. Sun Hat
The worst part to get a sunburn is the face so it’s a good idea to add a sun hat for your Mexico packing list. It’s also a fashion statement to wear sun hats on the beach with your swimsuit or beach cover-up.
If you’re not a fan of sun hats, you can wear an ordinary baseball cap instead.
12. Water Bottle
At a resort, it’s not always possible to get water at any time so having a reusable water bottle by your side is amazing. It’ll be hot also so you need to have water to stay hydrated. Either a plastic or stainless steel water bottle is a great option, up to your preference.
13. Sunglasses
I don’t know about you but sunglasses are one of those items that I always forget to bring and when the sun shines directly in my eyes, I instantly regret not bringing them. So don’t be like me and bring one or two pairs of sunglasses that fit your style preference.
Sunglasses aren’t just a fashion statement, they can also protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
14. A Place To Hide Your Valuables
There’s a lot to do in a Mexico resort and it’s sometimes not the most convenient to carry a beach bag or a travel backpack around. So the best way to carry small items like your hotel key, lipstick, or other very small personal items is a scrunchie like these. It has a hidden zipper pocket and thanks to the wrinkled style of the scrunchie, you’ll hardly see that there’s stuff inside.
15. Snorkeling Gear
We never know how well the snorkeling rentals are cleaned so if you’re extra cautious about that, it’s best to bring your own snorkeling gear. There are some that are relatively inexpensive and may even save you money if you plan to use them multiple times.
16. Pool Floaties
Pool floaties truly make a pool day so much more fun. There are rectangular ones that are super comfortable to lay on and also some traditional donut ones with playful designs.
17. Towel Clips
Do you know that moment when your towel on the lounge chair falls down or gets blown away by the wind? And then you constantly have to set it up again. That’s why these towel clips are so useful and will help keep your towels up the whole time.
Towel clips may seem like such a small item but it’s absolutely necessary item to bring!
Toiletries
18. Sunscreen
You can forget skincare and makeup but you absolutely cannot forget to bring sunscreen. It’s one of the most important things to bring. Being out in the sun all day is incredibly damaging for the skin. Sunscreen is going to protect those harmful UV rays. Just make sure it’s reef safe sunscreen. If you want a sunscreen that is super moisturizing (almost feels like a moisturizer) and has rice and probiotics infused in it, try out the cult-favorite Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. Another popular option is the Supergoop sunscreen.
19. Makeup
Bring all your makeup essentials like mascara, eyeliner, foundation, concealer, blush, etc. Pack it all up in a compact makeup bag.
20. Skincare
Similar to makeup, just pack all of your skincare essentials. Remember makeup remover and lip balm as well.
Electronics
21. Electronics Chargers
This includes phone chargers, laptop chargers, tablet chargers, etc.
22. Power Strip
Super necessary when you have multiple devices to charge. In the hotel room, there are usually outlets around the room and it’s so inconvenient to have to walk to each outlet for each device. This specific power strip works great because this little thing can literally charge up to 12 devices.
If you’re traveling with a group of people, one of these is enough for all of you.
23. Portable Charger
Relaxing in the resort probably means you’ll be draining your phone quite a bit so it’s so important to have a portable charger around in case the battery is slow. Everyone raves about the Anker one (over 77k reviews!) and I have it myself and it’s always reliable and it can charge quite a while before it dies out.
24. GoPro
If you love documenting your experiences, it’s a no-brainer to bring your GoPro. The GoPro Hero9 Black is an older model but does a great job at stabilization. It’s waterproof which means you can take it with you in the beach water, snorkeling, or to any other water activities.
Other Important Essentials
25. Credit Card
When traveling internationally, a lot of credit cards charge a foreign transaction fee that can be anywhere between 1-5% and the extra cost can add up. Imagine spending $500 – that’ll be an extra $25 in fees that could be fully avoidable. Also, get one that is geared towards traveling meaning you earn points that can contribute to your future flights and hotels.

A passport should be enough to get you into Mexico but just check to see if the required important documents have changed during the time you are traveling.
28. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is a must when traveling. For the amount of money you can save in the case of an incident, the small amount you pay upfront is very little in comparison. The last time I was in South Korea, I was about to take a flight from Seoul to Jeju (an island in Korea) but because of unexpected weather conditions, the flight got canceled literally the night before the flight. Good thing I had travel insurance so I got back the money pre-paid for hotels and flights.
