Welcome to my second income report on this blog! I’ve had this blog since November 2022 and it started as a travel blog. I got the motivation to create a travel blog after coming back from my honeymoon in Paris and Venice.
I posted on it pretty frequently when I first started the blog but eventually left it alone for over a whole year.
In December 2023, I decided to start posting on The Wandering Girl again. At this time, I decided to turn it into a fashion and style-focused blog because I honestly have so much more to talk about when it comes to fashion. In December, my blog was at 14,000 sessions per month.
I’m currently working a full-time corporate job and this blog is my side project but I’m hoping it can eventually earn more than my full-time job!
I’m excited to grow this blog and show you my journey month by month. I’ll share the ins and outs of exactly what I’m doing on my blog.
Let’s get into the numbers!
The Wandering Girl Income & Traffic Report:
Affiliate Income (all through Amazon Associates): $299.65
Display Advertising (through She Media): $538.98
Pageviews: 61,000 (56,000 sessions)
Total Income: $838.65
I do want to note that not all of that goes into my pocket because I do have some expenses and I do need to pay taxes on this amount.
Expenses Include:
- Hosting: Lyrical Host, used to be with Bluehost (I recommend Bluehost if you’re just starting and Lyrical Host for slightly more established blogs)
- Website Domain: Lyrical Host
What I Did This Month
Last month, I was only at 30,000 sessions and I hit 50,000 this month! I applied to Mediavine and I’m waiting to hear back.
These are the things I focused on this month:
- Posting blog posts consistently
- Posting more Pinterest pins of old URLs
- Stick with 1 freebie
Breakdown of advertising income:
As my blog views went up, so did my display ad income. I’m hoping to earn closer to $1,000 per month if I get into Mediavine.
Breakdown of affiliate marketing:
Most of my affiliate marketing income still came from previous posts I wrote over a year ago. This month, I started incorporating more affiliate-based posts.
Pinterest Strategy:
Last month, the highest monthly impressions was 1.2M. This month, I reached 2.8M. This growth was much faster than I anticipated.
My Pinterest strategy really hasn’t changed at all. In fact, I posted less pins than I did in February. I noticed the pins that really took off were very SEO optimized and have minimal text. I also started posting more pins from old posts that were popular on Pinterest.
I’ve seen accounts that reach up to 10M+ per month and I’m aiming for that.
Content Strategy:
My intial goal was to post 1 post per day but I did not achieve this. In total, I published 21 posts in March.
Freebies
In February, I tried out a few different freebie opt-ins. For March, I wanted to just test out one freebie and analyze how well it does.
I’m also in the process of creating a digital product to sell.
Did I accomplish my March goals?

April Goals:

- Finish creating digital product
- Get 300 email subscribers (currently at 116)
- Grow Pinterest from 2.8M monthly impressions to 3.8M monthly impressions
