WayAway is a new flight aggregator tool that is starting to become more popular. It’s not just for searching for the cheapest flights but it also has many other helpful functionalities as well. Since it’s still quite new, it’s hard to tell whether WayAway is really worth it or if you should choose WayAway over other airline websites. I wrote this in-depth WayAway review to give you all the details you need to know about WayAway in order to make an informed decision on whether it is worth it for you.

What Is WayAway?
WayAway shows you all airline flight information in one place and shows you the cheapest option to help you save the maximum amount on your travels. Their pricing is even more competitive than Google Flights because they show you smaller airlines which Google often does not display. They also offer cashback (actual cash back in your pocket) if you’re in their membership program which I’ll talk about later in this WayAway review article.
WayAway Features
1. Search For Flights
The first thing you’ll see on the WayAway website is the flight search tool. This is a very typical layout for a flight aggregator. However, WayAway has so many useful filters which I don’t see often on other airline sites. For example, there is a filter that lets you adjust the layover time, see which flights have no airport changes, flights that include baggage costs, you can choose your preferred stopover airports, and much more.
2. Find Things To Do
This feature of WayAway is really helpful to those who are in the beginning planning stage of their trip. It clearly lists featured spots, local favorites, the best places to take pictures, the best restaurants, and much more. If you click on each place, it’ll pull up a short description of the place from a local.
3. Cashback & Membership
If you’re part of their membership program, WayAway Plus, you can get cashback on all your flights. More info about this is in the next section.
WayAway Plus Membership
WayAway Plus is a membership program that gives you cashback on all your flight purchases. You can get up to 5% cashback on tickets and the money goes straight to your PayPal account. You can also get cashback on hotels, car rentals, and attractions.
A really unique feature is that you can get travel experts’ advice on what to do if your baggage is lost, covid vaccine guidelines, and more. The last main feature is that they have guides created by locals about hidden gems and must-visit places in the place you’re traveling to.
WayAway Plus is $5 a month or $49.99 per year.
Is WayAway Really Cheaper?
As part of this WayAway review, I did a comparison to see if WayAway is really cheaper than Google Flights. I compared it to Google Flights because it’s the most widely used flight aggregator.
San Francisco to Paris
I searched SF to Paris round trip on both WayAway and Google Flights and found Aer Lingus to be the cheapest airline. On WayAway, I searched for flights that don’t have an overnight layover and it gave me this result I screenshotted below as the cheapest flight. For Google Flights, I put in the same dates and it showed me a price that is almost $200 more than the same Aer Lingus flight. I also couldn’t find an Aer Lingus flight that didn’t have an overnight layover for the flight back.
Try comparing the flight costs yourself to see if the place you want to go to is cheaper on WayAway.
WayAway Pros and Cons
Pros of WayAway
As stated already in this WayAway review, there are many obvious pros of WayAway like being the cheapest flight aggregator and featuring the best places to visit in the country or city you’re traveling to. If you’re a WayAway Plus member, you can also get cashback on each flight, get expert local guides, and receive instant travel advice from a travel expert.
There’s another popular site called Scott’s Cheap Flights which requires a $50 yearly membership to get access to all the best flight deals. From my experience, WayAway has similar deals as Scott’s Cheap Flights but without the yearly membership cost.
Cons of WayAway
So far from the details listed in this WayAway review, it may seem like WayAway doesn’t have any cons but there may be some people who won’t find many benefits from WayAway.
If you want to earn points from traveling and use those points for more travel-related expenses in the future, WayAway might not be a good option for you. WayAway doesn’t give you travel points but rather gives you money back for each purchase. However, if the WayAway link takes you to the airline’s website you may still be able to get travel points plus cashback from WayAway (if you’re a WayAway Plus member).
The guides on what to do, eat, and see are a great starting point to plan your trip but are not in-depth enough to tell you more. You’ll need to add additional research yourself to figure out how to add it to your itinerary.
Is WayAway Legit?
Yes, WayAway is definitely legit. It’s a relatively new product so you don’t see many reviews out there. However, they have 48 reviews with a 4.5/5 star rating on Product Hunt, a popular site for people to discover new tech products.
WayAway Review: Is It Worth It?
I can strongly say yes that WayAway is worth it. It’s the best flight aggregator because it can save you hundreds of dollars on the same flight you book elsewhere. Even if you don’t get WayAway Plus and do not receive cashback, I think it’s highly worth it to just browse around the WayAway site to check the prices. Or even just browse what to do in the location you want to go to help start planning your itinerary.
I’m the type of person who looks for every possible coupon or discount code on the internet before making a purchase. And I’ve done that with flights too. I’ve compared countless different flight prices and my findings are they’re all either the same price on WayAway or WayAway is cheaper. I’m huge on saving money so time after time, I just get drawn to WayAway because they have the best deals.
